Background

Daniel Magalotti focuses on complex commercial litigation across a range of matters. He brings significant appellate experience and a broad civil litigation background to his practice.

Before joining Brownstein, Daniel was an associate in the Denver office of an Am Law 100 firm, where he worked on complex commercial litigation involving First Amendment issues, contract disputes, fraudulent transfer claims, jurisdictional challenges, restrictive covenants and cross-border matters. He also prepared witnesses and assisted with government investigations for large technology-sector clients. Prior to entering private practice, Daniel served as an appellate fellow in the Colorado Attorney General’s Office, focusing on U.S. Supreme Court litigation, criminal appeals, amicus strategy and Second Amendment cases. He has argued before the Colorado Court of Appeals and the Colorado Supreme Court.

After law school, Daniel clerked for Justice David N. Wecht of the Pennsylvania Supreme Court and Judge Milan D. Smith Jr. of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.

In addition to his litigation practice, Daniel has handled multiple pro bono matters representing asylum seekers, individuals facing deportation, incarcerated individuals and indigent criminal defendants.
