Background
Jack Shapiro focuses on mergers and acquisitions and private equity deals in his transactional corporate practice. His experience spans high-growth sectors such as health care technology and SaaS as well as regulatory frameworks in corporate finance and internet communications policy.
Jack was most recently the managing director of the Deming Center Venture Fund at the University of Colorado Boulder, managing a team of 13 JD, MBA and engineering PhD students and leading end-to-end investment processes from sourcing and screening to due diligence and portfolio support.
During law school, Jack was the articles editor for the Colorado Technology Law Journal and held leadership roles with the Silicon Flatirons Student Group and the law school’s admissions team. He was also previously a summer associate at the firm, supporting dealmaking and due diligence for lower-middle-market private equity clients, and an academic associate at Ensemble Innovation Ventures, supporting investments in healthcare SaaS and digital health platforms. He was also a Dale Hatfield scholar and policy intern with the consulting firm Public Knowledge, where he developed an expertise in national internet technology and related policy issues.
Prior to law school, Jack worked as a paralegal at an AmLaw 100 firm in New York, supporting high-profile transactions including Rivian’s $2.5 billion funding round and the IPO of Endeavor Group Holdings.
