Background

Joel Herberman supports Brownstein’s Government Relations team by providing thorough research and in-depth analysis of issues related to financial services. He tracks legislative and executive policy developments to provide comprehensive coverage to clients of all relevant matters.

Before joining the firm, Joel served as a staff assistant and then a legislative correspondent for former Rep. Jim Langevin (D-RI), honing his experience in the legislative process. He also held internships in the offices of House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer (D-MD) and Rep. Jaime Raskin (D-MD), as well as private industry internships that built his knowledge in following and reporting on the actions of Congress.
