Jordan Smith is recognized as a leading appellate and trial advocate. He previously served as Nevada’s deputy solicitor general, and he has been involved in some of Nevada’s most high-profile litigation and landmark decisions.

Jordan has first-chair trial experience and has argued dozens of cases in state and federal appellate courts on topics spanning administrative law, bankruptcy, breach of contract, employment, professional negligence, the death penalty and the Constitution. Jordan has authored hundreds of briefs at all levels, including at United States Supreme Court.

Jordan’s practice focuses on complex appellate and commercial litigation. His portfolio also encompasses an active election law and government docket. Jordan has represented governments like the State of Nevada against efforts to revive the Yucca Mountain nuclear waste project. He has also crafted strategic challenges against government action, including securing a nationwide injunction against a federal regulation. Jordan regularly advises on legislation and initiative matters. His clients include individuals, elected officials, small businesses, interest groups and publicly traded companies.

Jordan is an acknowledged thought leader on legal issues. He has been accepted as an expert on Nevada law at The Hague and he was a member of the Commission on the Nevada Rules of Appellate Procedure. He is a frequent author and speaker on myriad subjects and strategies.
