Background
Drawing on her background as a litigator and specializing in attorney ethics, Kati Rothgery offers in-depth counsel to the firm’s leadership, attorneys, policy professionals and staff in the areas of conflicts of interest and general ethical compliance. As general counsel, she provides guidance on a wide variety of issues, including client intake, policy development, risk management, subpoenas and discovery directed toward the firm, lateral intake and integration, and separation and retirement matters.
Her wealth of experience with clients, witnesses, attorneys and members of the legal community has allowed Kati to become a frequent speaker at the local, state and national levels on a variety of ethics-related topics.
Prior to joining Brownstein, Kati served as assistant regulation counsel with the Colorado Supreme Court’s Office of Attorney Regulation Counsel, where she handled all aspects of investigations into lawyers’ compliance with the Colorado Rules of Professional Conduct and prosecuted lawyers in disciplinary matters. She previously worked as an associate attorney at a large regional firm where she practiced employment law and complex commercial litigation.
