Lauren M. Diekman

Lauren Diekman provides strategic international policy counsel for companies across the infrastructure, energy, technology, telecommunication, and mining sectors. Her foreign affairs practice draws on strong relationships with the administration, foreign business and domestic private industry leaders, allowing her to serve as a key advisor for those looking to understand changing geopolitical and trade landscapes and advises clients as they navigate global markets. 

Lauren helps clients across Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and the United States solve problems and leverage policy priorities for their benefit.   Lauren taps into her time at the Department of Energy and multiple posts at the Department of State, under Republican and Democratic administrations, to ensure client success in national and international challenges. She also served as a senior director in International Affairs and  the U.S.-India Business Council (USIBC) at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, aiding companies in understanding the cultural, economic and political differences necessary for large scale development of energy and infrastructure projects that also served to increase bilateral and regional economic and security ties. Lauren’s work across the U.S. government and globally allows her to build coalitions and provide creative solutions for challenging projects.

In addition to her Central and South Asia work, Lauren worked in the State Department’s Bureau of African Affairs, focusing on security and political issues arising in east Africa and the geopolitical implications of these issues.
