Background
Mike Kennedy is an accomplished corporate attorney with particular experience in middle market private equity M&A and emerging growth and venture capital transactions. He specifically represents private equity funds and their portfolio companies in a variety of complex transactions and serves as outside corporate counsel to platform companies, managing day-to-day legal matters, organizing corporate records, and drafting and reviewing corporate documents and commercial contracts.
Most recently, Mike worked as an associate in DLA Piper’s Atlanta office, where he counseled private equity funds throughout the lifecycle of their platform companies — from the initial acquisition, to add-on, carve-out, and restructuring transactions, and through the ultimate exit opportunity. While at Emory University School of Law, he served as a managing editor of the Emory Law Journal and as a board member of the Goizueta Real Estate Private Equity Fund.
