
Background
Sapna Rampersaud is a dedicated policy and legal professional with a strong foundation in education advocacy. Her background in legal research, analysis and legislative work gives her foresight into policy changes enabling her to craft effective engagement strategies. Her work in the House, Senate and executive branch allows her to position clients in front of key lawmakers to influence legislation and regulation.
Sapna brings a wealth of experience from her clerkships with the U.S. House Committee on Education and the Workforce and the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee, where she contributed to state and federal oversight, legislative drafting, policy research and legal analysis. In these roles, she drafted letters and conducted in-depth research on issues such as student loan forgiveness, borrower defense, child welfare, restitution, the opioid and fentanyl crises, foreign surveillance and sovereign immunity, while assisting with committee investigations and hearings.
Sapna also interned with the U.S. Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division, focusing on disability rights and higher education accessibility. She later studied at the University of Ghent in Belgium to conduct comparative law research on disability rights in employment in the United States and European Union. Prior to her legal career, Sapna served as a middle school special education English teacher in Massachusetts.
