Background

Sophia Bunch brings a sharp legal mind and a strong foundation in litigation, research and public interest advocacy to her work with the firm’s litigation team. Her experience clerking for the U.S. District Court for the District of New Mexico has equipped her with hands-on skills in drafting judicial orders, conducting legal research and analyzing pleadings across a range of complex legal issues.

While in law school, Sophia worked with the UNM School of Law Clinic, where she worked on cases for a variety of clients, including in an asylum proceeding, and built courtroom experience preparing and delivering arguments. She also authored litigation materials and legal memoranda on federal and state matters for private practice attorneys as a summer associate.

Sophia’s commitment to justice and equity is reflected in her work with the New Mexico Center on Law and Poverty, where she prepared documents on appellate litigation and researched housing and consumer rights issues. She has experience in public service from her time with the Oregon Secretary of State and the First Judicial District Court of New Mexico.
