A registered patent attorney with a strong scientific foundation, Steve Kazmierski prepares and prosecutes complex patent applications and provides patent, licensing and enforcement counseling in biotechnology, chemistry and life sciences to help clients achieve their business goals. He represents inventors, entrepreneurs, academic and research scientists, in-house counsel and technology transfer managers.

Steve analyzes complex biotechnology issues and guides clients through regulatory and policy challenges. His work includes preparing freedom-to-operate, infringement, validity and patentability opinions and performing intellectual property due diligence. Additionally, he manages patent portfolios and counsels clients on patent and FDA strategy.

He prepares and prosecutes U.S. and international patents involving DNA and RNA technologies, protein and antibody engineering, and biological and gene therapies. His patent work also extends to pharmaceuticals, drug conjugates, diagnostic assays and the underlying tools that power modern research—such as molecular cloning, protein expression, cell culture and development, and immunohistochemistry. He also has experience with delivery of therapeutics, pediatric and adult nutritionals, nanotechnology, microfluidics and agricultural biotechnology.

Steve frequently presents to corporate counsel, legal associations and academic conferences on topics including IP due diligence and patent eligibility.

He is not currently licensed to practice in Colorado.
