Investing in your future
At Brownstein, we are deeply invested in the growth and development of our team members. We believe that our team members’ success is integral and should be supported by a robust commitment to professional advancement.
From the moment you join Brownstein, you will be immersed in a supportive and dynamic learning environment. Our comprehensive professional development programs include mentorship programs, continuing legal education (CLE), leadership and business development training, performance evaluations, and skill-specific training to ensure you are well-equipped to meet the challenges of the legal and policy professions.
Mentorship and collaboration at every level
Apprentice Program and Initial Support
Upon arriving at Brownstein, first-year associates and policy advisors join our apprentice program, which begins with a thorough orientation. This program is designed to provide monthly support from our professional development team and cover essential topics such as best practices in billing, time management, and stress management. To ensure first-year associates can focus on their development as attorneys, they have a reduced billable hour requirement.
Mentorship and Onboarding
All associates and policy advisors undergo a structured onboarding process that introduces them to the firm’s culture, resources and expectations, facilitating quick integration within Brownstein. Recognizing the importance of mentorship in career success, each associate and policy advisor is assigned a mentor. Additionally, the firm promotes informal mentoring to foster relationships among attorneys and policy professionals, enhancing our collegial atmosphere.
Continuous Feedback and Advanced Training
We encourage feedback from shareholders and senior policy professionals, paired with annual performance evaluations. These evaluations track progress, set goals and identify training needs. Associates and policy advisors receive leadership and business development training for successful partnerships and senior roles. We offer accredited in-house CLE programs and training in key areas, ensuring that all attorneys and policy professionals possess the necessary skills to excel. Personalized training is provided as needed, supporting the growth of future firm leaders.
