Announcing the 2019 Mark F. Leonard Award Winner

November 04, 2019

Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck introduced the Mark F. Leonard Award in 2016 to recognize one employee annually who embodies the firm’s core values—All In, Excellence, Respect, Giving Back—and inspires this behavior in others.

Brownstein is pleased to announce that Nancy Crawford is the recipient of the 2019 Mark F. Leonard Award. As chief human resources officer, Nancy helped shape the firm’s core values and has continually exemplified them throughout her more than 30 years with Brownstein. Nancy is responsible for all of the firm’s human resources functions including recruiting, compensation, benefits, counseling and training and is a member of the firm’s Business Leadership Team. She is known for her problem-solving skills, intelligence, tact, compassion and respect for others.

Nancy was recognized on Nov. 4 with the Mark F. Leonard Award at a firmwide town hall. Shareholder Mark Leonard, who was honored with the inaugural award and serves as its namesake, and Managing Partner Rich Benenson presented Nancy with the award.

“Nancy’s ‘All In’ approach is really predicated on respect,” said Rich in a video highlighting Nancy’s accomplishments. “Much of her portfolio deals with sensitive and confidential matters. Nancy has always handled all of these matters with an amazing amount of grace, civility and respect.”

This year, the Mark F. Leonard Award Committee received 14 nominations from across the firm with some individuals receiving multiple nominations. Watch the video below to learn more about why Nancy is so deserving of this award.

Congratulations, Nancy!
