Jake Whitted brings a thoughtful and solutions-oriented approach to navigating all components of real estate deals and helping his clients realize their objectives. Jake’s local and national real estate practice focuses on the development, acquisition, financing, leasing and disposition of a variety of real estate asset classes, including commercial and industrial properties and portfolios, multifamily apartment and condominium developments, mixed-use, office and retail projects, and senior living facilities.

Jake assists real estate owners and developers through the transaction process and property life cycle, including initial deal structuring, due diligence review, joint venture partnerships, acquisition and construction financing, and related development, leasing, operational and management services. He also represents institutional and private equity lenders on a range of real estate financing transactions, from initial acquisition and development financing to bridge and securitized loans.

Jake also serves as the co-chair of the Summer Associate Committee.

Recent Experience

  • Represented Etkin Johnson Real Estate Partners in the sale of its “Colorado Industrial Portfolio,” a 19-property portfolio (2 million square feet) of industrial properties located throughout the metro Denver area. This sale was negotiated and closed on a short timeline, and the property sold for $247.5 million, which was the largest industrial sale in Colorado history at the time of closing.

  • Counsel to Guaranty Bank and Trust Company in term loans and credit facilities for Mile High Flea Market LLC and its affiliates, which own and operate Denver’s premiere flea market.

  • Represented SLV Castle Oaks L.L.C. in the sale of residential lots at Terrain in Castle Rock, Colorado.

  • Represented lender in loans secured by manufactured housing communities in Indiana, Ohio and Michigan.

  • Counsel to KeyBank in a term loan and revolving credit facility for Binswanger Enterprises, LLC, a leading manufacturer of glass and aluminum products for construction, residential and automotive markets in the U.S. and a portfolio company of Grey Mountain Partners.
