Background

Las Vegas native with extensive experience in the private and public sectors. Transactional and land use attorney. Leads all aspects of real estate development deals, from acquisition to entitlement.

A former assistant city attorney, Jamie Thalgott shepherds development projects through local government channels and understands local governmental regulatory implications on complex land use and real estate transactions. Her practice provides counsel to high-profile developers, through the negotiation of development agreements and entitlement applications, and to market-leading casino and resort clients, through the negotiation of property acquisitions, dispositions and leasing as well as legal issues related to land use and property development.

Jamie is also a strong believer in giving back to the community, currently serving as pro bono legal counsel to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Foundation and as a committee member for the Wonder Women of Metro annual event. Jamie also serves as a board member for the Henderson Development Association, the economic development arm of the Henderson Chamber of Commerce and on the firm’s Women’s Leadership Initiative Steering Committee.

Previously, Jamie served as an assistant city attorney for the City of Henderson, where she served as lead counsel to the city’s Planning Commission, Property Management Department and Community Development and Services Department.

Representative Matters

Real Estate/Transactional

  • Nevada counsel to MGM Resorts International in Blackstone Real Estate Income Trust’s $4.2 billion acquisition of Bellagio real estate from MGM and lease back to MGM. This sale has been said to be the single largest resort sale in Las Vegas’ history.

  • Served as counsel to the City of Henderson in the associated acquisition and development of 55-acres of land for the Las Vegas Raiders’ headquarters and practice facility, as well as a sale/leaseback of such facility.

  • Counsel to MGM Resorts in its $825 million sale of the Circus Circus Hotel Casino and Festival Grounds.

  • Nevada counsel to MGM Resorts International and MGM Growth Properties LLC in connection with forming a joint venture with Blackstone Real Estate Income Trust to acquire the Las Vegas real estate assets of the MGM Grand and Mandalay Bay for $4.6 billion.  Concurrent with the acquisition, MGM Resorts entered into a master lease to lease from the joint venture and operate both properties.

Land Use

  • Counsel to Caesars in connection with its $375 million development of Caesars Forum Convention Center.
