Max Porteus brings strong research and writing skills and a commitment to public service to Brownstein’s litigation team.
Before joining Brownstein, Max clerked for Justice Carlos A. Samour, Jr. of the Colorado Supreme Court, where he researched and wrote certiorari memoranda, participated in all phases of opinion writing, and assisted with oral arguments. While in law school, he represented indigent clients in the Civil Litigation Clinic, where he successfully negotiated a favorable settlement in a wage theft action. He has also served as a student extern in the Denver district attorney’s office, where he gained experience drafting motions and briefs. Prior to law school, Max taught middle school English in Denver Public Schools and in Jackson, MS, with Teach for America.
