Background

Former Colorado deputy attorney general and U.S. attorney. Seasoned counselor and litigator for clients facing federal and state attorney general investigations, regulatory matters and internal investigations. Recognized political law advisor to corporations and nonprofits on campaign finance, elections and ballot initiative law.

Jason Dunn brings decades of experience at the highest levels of government and private practice, including service as Colorado’s deputy attorney general and the U.S. attorney for the District of Colorado. Jason has led and advised on some of the most high-profile government investigations in the state, giving him unique insight into how enforcement decisions are made and cases are built.

As co-chair of the firm’s State Attorneys General group, Jason leverages his close relationships with attorneys general and their senior staff across the country. He regularly advises clients in matters involving consumer finance, advanced technology, antitrust, health care, airlines and consumer products. He also speaks frequently to trade associations and legal groups on how state AGs conduct investigations and make enforcement decisions.

As U.S. attorney, Jason led an office of 200 attorneys and staff prosecuting complex criminal and civil matters on behalf of the federal government. His team brought major actions under the False Claims Act, anti-kickback statutes and other civil and criminal fraud provisions. He also helped lead the Department of Justice’s Procurement Collusion Strike Force. This experience informs his work as co-chair of the firm’s Government Investigations & White Collar Defense group, where he counsels clients through sensitive investigations and enforcement actions.

Jason also regularly advises clients on political law, including campaign finance, election law and ballot initiatives.
