Background
Lauren Hancock is an attorney and federal policy strategist with deep expertise in tax legislation and regulation. She advances complex government revenue priorities through targeted advocacy and stakeholder mobilization. At the heart of her approach is a commitment to grassroots engagement—leveraging the voices and experiences of small business owners to shape federal policy outcomes. Her work bridges legal analysis with strategic outreach, ensuring that clients’ tax compliance initiatives are both technically sound and lawmaker supported.
Lauren most recently led the federal tax and financial services policy portfolios for the nation’s leading small business advocacy organization. In this role, she oversaw top legislative priorities and coordinated cross-functional teams to influence federal decision-making. She engaged with lawmakers, crafted testimony for congressional hearings and managed government affairs teams to advance small business interests.
Lauren has a deep understanding of compliance and contract law. Previously, she has advised on commercial transactions as an in-house assistant general counsel. Additionally she has extensive experience in regulatory matters, with particular experience related to export control compliance under the Department of Commerce’s Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS). Lauren’s public sector experience includes several years in the Senate, where she advised former Sen. David Perdue (R-GA) on legislative and political decisions. While with his campaign and on the Hill, she managed internal operations, developed policy proposals and led communications on key budget, finance and banking issues.
