Experienced intellectual property attorney and trial lawyer. Represents internationally renowned brands in the protection, commercialization and enforcement of their valuable IP assets. Outdoor industry, beauty and wellness enthusiast.

Airina serves as first chair counsel in trademark infringement matters, leading cases from pre-suit strategy and enforcement through trial (including jury trials) and appeal. She has successfully represented clients in U.S. federal district courts, appellate courts and before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board of the USPTO, handling infringement, dilution, false advertising and unfair competition claims. Her litigation practice spans the full lifecycle of disputes, including injunction proceedings, damages analysis and appellate advocacy.

In addition to her litigation work, Airina advises clients on global trademark portfolio strategy and international brand management, including clearance, prosecution, enforcement and risk management. Her broader intellectual property practice includes copyrights, trade secrets, right of publicity, influencer marketing and IP-driven commercial agreements.

Airina works closely with clients across a range of industries, including consumer and personal care, outdoor recreation, sports and sports betting, fashion, media and entertainment, cannabis FinTech, InsurTech and technology. She has served as a trusted advisor to Fortune 500 companies, iconic consumer brands, professional sports teams and high-growth innovators.

A dealmaker in sponsorship, endorsement and IP licensing transactions, Airina has led complex negotiations involving NFL, MLB, NBA and NHL sports teams, recently securing a 9-figure sponsorship deal on behalf of a well-known resort property. She frequently counsels clients on influencer marketing, endorsements, and brand collaborations designed to amplify brand value while managing legal risk.

Airina serves as co-chair of the firm’s Intellectual Property Department. Prior to joining Brownstein, she practiced for over a decade at DLA Piper in New York, where she represented global brands in high-stakes IP litigation and transactions.

Representative Matters

 

  • Grato Holdings v. JB7, LLC (S.D. Iowa): Lead trial counsel for JB7, LLC. Obtained jury trial verdict for JB7 followed by bench order dismissing all of the plaintiff’s claims.
  • Glydways, Inc. v. Glyd, Inc. (N.D. Ca.): Secured summary judgment of non-infringement on behalf of declaratory judgment plaintiff.
  • Secured 9-figure sponsorship deal on behalf of a major resort property.
  • Represented leading California cannabis brands in connection with executing creative state and federal prosecution strategies; successfully enforced brands against third party infringers.
  • Represented Avon in a trademark and trade dress infringement action, obtaining favourable settlement for client and dismissal of all claims.
  • Obtained an appellate decision that restored the exclusive right of a leading cigar manufacturer to sell COHIBA cigars in the United States.
  • Represented major multinational companies as well as emerging growth companies in IP-licensing transactions, technology transactions and commercial negotiations and disputes.
  • Represented aircraft manufacturer in sponsorship and technology licensing transactions.
  • Represented the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey in trademark infringement action involving the famous WORLD TRADE CENTER mark, secured dismissal of all 7 causes of action for breach of license agreements and trademark infringement.
