Brownstein’s Melissa Kuipers Blake Elected President of Colorado Civil Justice League

January 10, 2019

Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck is pleased to announce that Melissa Kuipers Blake, a shareholder in the firm’s Denver office, was elected president of the Colorado Civil Justice League (CCJL) for a one-year term. CCJL is a nonpartisan organization focused exclusively on limiting unreasonable lawsuits, preserving common sense in the courtroom and fostering a fair, efficient civil justice system.

In her role, Melissa will focus on working with the CCJL government relations team and the board to craft legislation that prevents unnecessary and costly litigation. She has been active in the organization for nearly a decade, serving on its board of directors since 2010 and most recently as its first vice president in 2018.

“A strategic thinker, Melissa has been an integral part of our board for several years,” said Mark Hillman, executive director of CCJL. “ She has the tools to be an innovative leader, and I look forward to working with her in this role.”
