John Broadbent Joins Special Olympics Colorado’s Young Professionals Board

December 22, 2021

Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck is pleased to announce that John Broadbent, an associate in its Denver office, has joined the Special Olympics Colorado Young Professionals Board (YPB), a group of professionals committed to raising funds and awareness to help end discrimination against people with intellectual disabilities.

The Special Olympics Colorado YPB helps promote the organization’s mission to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendships with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.

“Having learned to ski in the adaptive program of a Vermont ski resort, I know firsthand the enormous impact that participation in sports activities can have on the lives of individuals with disabilities, ” Broadbent said. “I feel passionately that sports and other physical exertion can play a crucial role in not only building the self-confidence of people with disabilities, but also integrating them into a team and ultimately society at large,” he said.
