Brownstein Lobbyists Recognized on The Hill’s 2022 Top Lobbyists List

December 07, 2022

Norm Brownstein, Marc Lampkin, Al Mottur, Greta Joynes and Zach Pfister, all members of Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck’s Government Relations Department, were listed among the most influential lobbyists in D.C. by The Hill. In its 2022 Top Lobbyists list, the publication “honors the corporate lobbyists, hired guns, association leaders and grassroots activists who leveraged their expertise and connections to make a difference in the nation’s capital this year.”

Chairman and Founder Norm Brownstein has earned the respect and trust of leaders on both sides of the aisle, which is why U.S. Senators Ted Kennedy and Hank Brown honored him with the title of "America's 101st Senator." He has impacted our nation’s public policy for over four decades. The D.C. office’s success can be credited to his passion for political advocacy and his relentless pursuit of solutions to clients’ problems. Chairman Brownstein has been instrumental in the passage of numerous federal laws spanning six administrations.

Marc Lampkin is chair of the firm’s Government Relations Department. He is a highly respected advisor and veteran Republican lobbyist who brings years of legal, political, legislative and campaign experience to bear for his clients. His years on the Hill, campaign experience and extensive relationships with administration officials and staffers, at policy think tanks, trade associations and the media have made him a trusted unofficial advisor for numerous members of Congress, cabinet officials and other leading Washington policymakers.

Al Mottur is a senior Democratic strategist who solves the most complex and thorny political issues clients face in Washington, D.C. Mottur connects organizations with leaders at the highest levels of Democratic politics, in both Congress and the Biden administration, and uses his legal and policy intellect to build consensus around solutions. He also serves as co-chair of the firm’s technology and telecommunication practice. Mottur is a prolific Democratic fundraiser and has been heavily involved with state, federal and presidential campaigns.

Greta Joynes is co-chair of the firm’s technology and telecommunications practice. Her technical understanding of clients’ business and political intuition on when and how to engage the government on their behalf has resulted in market-changing outcomes for small business coalitions, Series-A startups and Fortune 15 corporations. She leverages her experience as a senior congressional aide to frame issues and pitch policy solutions in ways that resonate with key Republican decision-makers to forge enduring relationships between her clients, the administration and Congress.

Zach Pfister has personal relationships that extend across the House Democratic Caucus, which he supplements with substantive policy expertise to shape client outcomes on Capitol Hill. He leverages his experience having served for moderate members of Congress from competitive districts to engage vital decision-makers who make or break legislation. Regarded as a straight shooter by colleagues and clients alike, Pfister’s solutions-driven approach offers policymakers viable solutions for real-world challenges related to financial services and fintech, health care, veterans affairs and homeland security.
