Jason Downs, co-chair of Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck’s State Attorneys General practice group and its Environmental Social Governance group, has joined the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law Board of Visitors.
In his four-year role, Downs will advise the university’s dean, identify areas of growth and provide feedback on both new and existing programming.
Downs received his law degree from the university and credits the institution with giving him a unique head start when he began his litigation career.
“Prior to graduating, I handled important cases in actual courtrooms under the close supervision of clinical professors,” he said. “Also, the National Trial Team gave me the opportunity to handle mock cases in various jurisdictions around the country, where we ultimately won a national championship. I’m grateful for the opportunities University of Maryland provided me, and this is my way of giving back.”
